How to change your GoDaddy Nameservers

If your domain name (yourname.com) was purchased through GoDaddy but your website is not on GoDaddy, you will need to change it’s nameservers. You don’t need to know what those are, just follow these instructions.

You should have nameservers from your developer or hosting company. You will need those to do this.

Step 1: Login to your GoDaddy dashboard.

Step 2: Go to the DNS Management page.

Step 3: Select the domain name you want to use, click Settings wheel and select “Manage DNS”.

Step 4: In “DNS Management”, scroll down to find the “Nameservers” card. Click “Change”.

Step 5: Under “Choose your new nameserver type”, select “Custom” option.

Step 6: Enter your name servers into the “Nameserver” from fields and click on “Save” to confirm these settings.

That’s it.

Note: Changes should happen within 15 minutes but it may take 4 to 8 hours for .com and .net domain names to fully change, and 24 to 48 hours for other networks to access information for all other domain extensions.
